No inscriptions found, 4x2 inches rectangular cube with a nail type lock. Box opens in half. Made of metal. No idea what it is.

Found in 2004 in grandparents home of 70 years. May be related to shoe industry? Crank on one side opens vice. About the size of a small coffee table.

There are no markings. It is a set of 8 small drawers and the top opens up. I’ve searched all over for clues.
