Description: Item has no tags, markins, or any means to identify. It is made out of what appears to be cast iron and is fairly heavy. Dimensions are:
8 1/4" tall(12 1/8" including handle) x 5 1/2" in diameter. My thoughts were possibly something to do with mining, railroad, or marine. There is a groove on the underside of the main bell that is within the circumference of the cage portion, possibly to fit some kind of globe. Where the light socket mounts to the inside of the bell, it appears to have some kind of material possibly for water proofing or water resistence. I don't know if the wire to plug it in is original, but it does look old and is pretty heavy duty. The plug is a two prong with half round post for ground. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
