Description: Heavy bronze? copper? locking box with leather gasket in lid suspended between two cast iron flywheels. Flywheels are rigidly attached to box portion and do not rotate about an axle. Box measures about 12" in length and is about 8" high. Flywheels are about 10" in diameter. A small hole (1/4") is drilled into each flywheel however they are not threaded. There is no writing on the box or patent #'s to be found anywhere. It was found in the basement of an old city hotel in PA. It looks like it may have been a tumbler to polish something perhaps coins or silver.
