Description: Gulf Gas Station Ink Blotter Advertisements

I believe that both of these are from the 1950's. I was told that they are ink blotters, but I'm not sure. If they are, they've never been used. What are they worth, and what were their purpose if they are not ink blotters?

One of them has "Best 10 gallon buy", "NO-NOX GAS", "AD 5562" and the other one has "FIFTY YEARS OF SERVICE", "1901", "1951", "PETROLEUM AND ITS PRODUCTS" with no other markings. The back of each one is also blank.
