Description: Two (I think some kind of metal, I'm not sure) statues of dogs. The breed seems to be a hunting sort; either a Rhodesian Ridgeback or a Vizsla. Found these in a Dutch antique-like shop in The Hague. The owner said she found them in a brocante in France but knows nothing else of their background. I can find NO images, anywhere, not the US, not French, not Dutch.
Each of the of the two dogs are 8 inches high and weigh around 3.5 pounds each. They almost look identical, but they're not (slight head angle difference). They are green, but not what I would suspect from a bronze statue. The person I bought it from thought they were clay, however I don't hear sand and they are weighty. Additionally, I removed a bit of the velvet at the bottom to find a small metalic shine underneath. Perhaps a bronze like color, but it's difficult to say (perhaps copper?). Do you have any more information about these dog statues or know where I can find anything more?
