Description: I found this box in an falling down old house on my property. House was built in 1880's and abandoned in early 1950's. I was thinking this was a portable telegraph box or something of that sort based on the fold down front. It looks like little shelf inside it at one point but it's just a nub of wood now. There is a broken leather strap that was once used as a carrying handle. This could be just a homemade box but it seems kind of odd. There are no makers marks or writing of any sort. Any info is appreciated.
The dimensions are: H- 16in.
L- 12in.
W- 9.25in.
