Description: Hoping to get some help ID'ing this piece I picked up yesterday. Pictures linked below on Flickr.

The top is inset, and completely missing, they said it had fabric before over wood. The back has a few small metal hooks which might be for a now-gone mirror? They called it a dresser but it is not very deep and only has 2 big drawers with 3 smaller up top. Curved legs with some etching. Veneer patterning on the front, with a veneer scroll in the middle which is peeling. Brass(?) etched metal knobs. The bottom of the drawers is a very red thin wood material.

Would love to know around how old it is, what it might have been, where it may have been made, what wood it is, and any other info to help me figure out how to care for it/restore it. Thank you!
