Description: No markings whatsoever.
I'm thinking maybe a nutcracker (walnuts, almonds, brazil nuts, hickory nuts) ? The base(anvil?) of the press is curved..the star blade on the bottom of the press ram is flat-bottomed and couldn't enter the rounded base. I'm guessing curvature of the base is to prevent objects from rolling-away.
I can imagine a candy factory using something like this to open walnut/almonds/pecans prior to the automation of such equipment. The head of the ram is obviously replaceable but I don't have any other heads.
