Description: Made 1977 by California Originals measures about 7" tall 5" wide. Mug is in the shape of Qui Gon Jinn's head. The back says "May the force be with you." Underneath says," star wars, 1977, 20th century fox folm corp, california originals, Rumph, and what looks like usa 26 or 28." I assume Rumph is the artist, but I don't know. Inside and top of mug glazed dark blue, mug is mostly clay browm, except for some facial details.

One of the first collectibles ever produced, this tankard was sculpted by Jim Rumph and released by California Originals. It seems that Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and Obi-Wan Kenobi are the more popular of these. They don't appear to have a great resale value on ebay, but many of the asking prices for these appear to be in the $20 to $80 range. Popular collectible guides list their value anywhere from $200 to $300. I'm unable to locate the Qui Gon Jinn tankard or it's value. Maybe someone else has one or may have an idea of it's value?

I seriously doubt that a Qui Gon Jinn mug was made in 1977 as it was a character not introduced until the Phantom Menace.

There was NOT a Qui Gon Jinn mug produced in 1977 by RUMPH.....there were only 3 original (authentic) tankards produced. They were Chewbacca (#27,I own) & Obi Wan & Darth Vader.....those are numbered as 25 & 26, but I'm not sure which is which. ;-)There ARE, however, many knock-offs of these collectable tankards. They highest going price for the Chewy mug currently is about 150$ without th original packing, closer to 300$ if it's boxed with the logo tag.
