Description: This item was posted in a FB group called Antique Identification and Value. No-one seems to be able to identify what it is. It looks hand-made. There are no holes in it, just the pegs on both sides and the top, and handles at both ends and on the lid. No moving parts at all. I do not know if a wooden box was repurposed to transform it into this item or if the box was made specifically as a part of this item. Some have thought it was an instrument, a prop for a play, or used to make lace or even shoes. The box appears to be pine and the lid with the cross-like handle lifts off. Inside it is empty. I have no other information regarding its origins. If anyone is able to identify its purpose, that would be wonderful.
