Description: Found in downtown Jersey City, NJ while walking dog on a curbside recycling night. About 4x3 feet, might be cherry, I have NO CLUE what this piece is...anyone know what its use is? The carving is really sweet, and the doors open outward and swing on exquisitely hung hinges. My sense is that it is an 1800-something piece that came out of a NYC-area brownstone or farm house. Will check on dovetails, nails and get back. I'm so curious as to what this beautiful thing might have been used for!
