Description: These iron, hand forged artifacts were found in the ruins of a Wilson County, Kansas homestead. We think the homestead was occupied from the 1870's thru 1930's. The home may have burned down. Each are very similar in size (about 1" tall and 1" wide). They all have a small hole in the bottom. These have baffled several Virginia archaeologists. We have found objects in the same area as these from the Civil War. Does anyone have an answer as to how these were used?
