Description: This was my fathers sword. My mother believes it was given to him from his uncle, we know absolutely nothing other then this. The handle and case are in terrible condition, old bamboo. The blade has several very small dings in the blade and two noticeable ones toward the tip. I was told there are ‘blood stains’ on the blade, but I have no idea what it is. I was told the handle is dated 1438 and the makers name is Bishu Osafune Yasumitsu. Can anyone tell me anything else about this? The date is hard to read, as it was told to me. I can’t make any of the writings out. Any suggestions on where to go to get this thing validated? Thanks
