WHAT IS THIS?? Small jar/jug/ bottle that says "North German Lloyd S.S. Bremen" on it. Filled with liquid but bottle is sealed.

30x20x30 inches. No identification markings. Purchased at garage sale, from an older woman who had no memory of where it came from. Heavy appears to be wood inlaid on metal but no metal visible. Could be some kind of laminate wood over metal or lead box. Heavy for its size.
